Family Life

The Family Life Office provides the following programs:

  • Marriage Preparation

Samaritan Ministry

UPCOMING EVENTS:  Marriage Preparation will begin on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 7:30pm. The classes will be held at Emmaus Centre, Fox Hill and will run for 10 consecutive weeks. Couples planning to marry before April 2009 should enroll in this course. Interested persons should contact their parish priest and then the Family Life Office for further details. Registration fee: $40:00 per couple.

 

Parenting Today’s Child for Tomorrow’s World. This is an 8 week program designed to help participants learn new ways of disciplining children, build self-esteem and steer them on the road to success. The session will begin on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 7:30pm. at Emmaus Centre, Fox Hill. If desired, counseling is available to adolescents whose parent/guardian is enrolled in the program. Fee: $40:00. (Includes text book and handouts). Interested persons may register at the Family Life Office.

Men’s Group. This program operates on a twenty six week cycle and is ongoing. It provides treatment for men who abuse their partners. Weekly therapy sessions are conducted by professional therapists. Interested persons may contact the Family Life Office.

Project Rachel.  Troubled by a past abortion? Healing and reconciliation are possible. Call Project Rachel 24hour hotline at 322-5049. Collect calls from the Family Islands are accepted between the hours of 10:00am and 12:00noon or 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Compassionate and caring counselors are available.
